Intellectual Disability Nurse – Residential / Community Services

We are recruiting Intellectual Disability Nurses (RNID) to support individuals living in residential and community-based disability services. This role focuses on enabling autonomy, promoting wellbeing, and supporting meaningful daily living within a person-centred model of care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities across residential or day service settings
• Contribute to individualised care planning, goal setting and progress review
• Support service users with communication, social participation, emotional regulation, daily living skills and community engagement
• Implement clinical interventions in line with assessed needs, including medications management and health monitoring
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, families and advocates to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Maintain clear and accurate clinical documentation and participate in regulatory compliance activities
Requirements
• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• RNID qualification preferred; RGN / RPN nurses with relevant ID sector experience are also considered
• Understanding of positive behaviour support and person-centred care models
• Strong communication, teamwork and professional judgement
Desirable
• Experience in residential, community or day programme services
• Additional training in autism, behavioural support, sensory integration, or communication aids
Remuneration
Rates vary based on experience, shifts and service environment (residential / day service / outreach).
